Laptop Charging and Power Jack Repair
If the charger has to be held at an angle, or the battery never fills, the DC power jack or charging circuit has probably failed. We repair both, on every make of laptop.
What this covers
- Loose, bent or broken DC power jacks
- USB-C charging ports
- Faulty chargers and adapters
- Batteries that will not charge or drain quickly
- Charging circuits on the motherboard
How it works
We check the adapter, the socket and the battery separately, because any of the three can produce the same symptom.
Questions
Is a loose charging socket dangerous?
It can overheat. Stop using the laptop on charge until the socket has been repaired.
Do I need a new battery?
Not always. We test it; a charging fault on the board can make a good battery look dead.
